About The Village Vet
The Village Vet is a one doctor mixed animal practice.  We see patients at the office, on the farm, and on house calls.  You may see Dr. Burgmeier at different events around the area as well.  Since the office opened in July of 2011, we’ve treated every client like they were a part of our family.  We have a pharmacy, surgical suite, examination rooms, private comfortable euthanasia room, portable digital x-ray unit ultrasound, and cold laser. The Village Vet utilizes in house testing and external laboratories for diagnostics.  We would love to partner with you to help your pet be as healthy as possible!

Dr. Burgmeier graduated from Winfield-Mt. Union High School, in southeast Iowa. She received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ames, Iowa in 2008.  Since graduation, Dr. Burgmeier has worked in mixed animal practice in rural Iowa, Small Animal and Equine practice in North Texas, and as a relief veterinarian in Iowa and Texas.  During 2010, she completed over 200 hours of training and passed a national written and practical examination to obtain her certification in veterinary chiropractics from Parker College of Chiropractics in Irving, Texas.  She currently practices traditional and alternative veterinary medicine on multiple species in rural Iowa.  Dr. Burgmeier has written articles for the Apples N' Oats quarterly magazine, has presented at the EIVA conference, was the equine speaking chair for the Spring 2012 and Spring 2014 Eastern Iowa Veterinary Association Conference, and currently is on the board for the Eastern Iowa Vet Association.
